What happened
On October 7, 2024, at approximately 19:39 CDT, a Beech C99, registration N130GP, was destroyed following an accident near Norfolk, Nebraska. The aircraft was operating as an on-demand cargo flight under 14 CFR Part 135.
The flight had arrived at Norfolk Regional Airport at approximately 19:07 CDT to pick up additional cargo for a subsequent flight to Omaha, Nebraska. Airport surveillance video showed the aircraft departing from runway 20 and climbing. During the departure, the airplane entered a left bank turn, descended, and struck the terrain.
The impact occurred approximately 640 yards southeast of the departure end of runway 20. The wreckage exhibited multiple ground scars, including divots consistent with the wings, empennage, and main landing gear. At the time of impact, the aircraft appeared to be in a flat, near-wings-level attitude. The tail section and right main landing gear fractured and remained at the initial impact site, while the main wreckage traveled 24 yards east. A post-impact fire occurred, consuming much of the wreckage.
The pilot sustained 1 fatal injury.
