What happened

On March 7, 2025, at approximately 1740 Alaska standard time, a Pilatus PC-12/45, registration N304PT, was involved in an accident near Sleetmute, Alaska. The aircraft was operating as a Part 135 on-demand charter flight carrying nine passengers.

The flight departed from Scammon Bay Airport (PACM) at 1635 on an instrument flight rules (IFR) flight plan, destined for Ted Stevens International Airport (PANC) in Anchorage. After climbing to 27,000 feet, the pilot noticed the left side of the windscreen cracking. Following this observation, the pilot reduced power and initiated a gradual descent. Approximately one minute later, while passing through 24,000 feet, the left side windscreen blew out of the aircraft.

The pilot diverted the aircraft to Sleetmute Airport (PASL), where the plane landed without further incident. There were no injuries to the pilot or the nine passengers.
