What happened

On April 22, 2025, at approximately 13:25 CDT, a Cessna T210N, registration N4795C, was conducting a personal flight under 14 CFR Part 91 when it was involved in an accident near Fayetteville, Arkansas. The flight originated from Drake Field Airport (FYV).

While approximately 14 nautical miles from the airport, the pilot observed the alternator light illuminate and smoke emerging from beneath the instrument panel. The pilot initiated a diversion back to FYV. As the aircraft approached within 5 nautical miles of the airport, oil began spraying onto the windshield and fire was visible underneath the engine cowling. Following these events, the engine seized and the propeller stopped rotating.

The pilot performed a glide back to Drake Field Airport and landed on the runway. Upon contact with the runway, the landing gear collapsed, causing the aircraft to slide off the runway. There were no injuries to the pilot or the two passengers. The fuselage and horizontal stabilizer sustained substantial damage.
