What happened

On May 16, 2025, at approximately 14:59 CDT, a Beech F33A, registration N6376S, was involved in an accident near Houston, Texas. The aircraft was being operated under 14 CFR Part 91 for personal use.

According to the pilot, the engine appeared to function normally during the takeoff phase. Shortly after takeoff, the engine speed experienced an abrupt drop from approximately 2,780 rpm to below 2,000 rpm. Due to the loss of power, the pilot was unable to maintain altitude and performed a forced landing into a wooded area located roughly 0.50 miles southeast of the runway departure end.

Upon exiting the aircraft, the pilot observed a small fire near the outboard section of the left wing. The fire subsequently spread, resulting in the destruction of most of the airframe.

There were no injuries to the pilot.
