What happened

On September 13, 2025, at approximately 1300 Pacific daylight time, a Cessna P210N, registration N25WD, was involved in an accident near Victorville, California. The aircraft was being operated under 14 CFR Part 91 for instructional purposes.

The flight instructor reported that the intent of the flight was to conduct takeoff and landing practice at Southern California Logistics Airport (VCV). During the landing roll on runway 35, the main landing gear collapsed, though the nose gear remained extended. Following the collapse, the aircraft veered to the right, causing the left wingtip and the left horizontal stabilizer to strike the ground. The impact resulted in substantial damage to the horizontal stabilizer.

Prior to touchdown, the instructor performed a pre-landing check and observed a green gear-down light. Additionally, the instructor used a right-wing mirror to confirm that the main landing gear appeared to be in the down position before landing.
