What happened
On October 12, 2025, at approximately 1334 central daylight time, a Beech C90, registration N291CC, was destroyed in an accident near Fort Worth, Texas. The flight was being operated under 14 CFR Part 91 for personal use. The aircraft was occupied by a private pilot and a pilot-rated passenger, both of whom sustained 2 fatal injuries.
According to ADS-B data, the aircraft departed Perot Field/Fort Worth Alliance Airport (AFW) at 1203. The flight path included several approaches to Bowie Municipal Airport (0F2), followed by a 360-degree right turn approximately 13 nautical miles south-southwest of 0F2. After flying south, the aircraft turned southeasterly and later turned toward Hicks Airfield (T67).
A pilot at T67 reported hearing a radio transmission on the common traffic advisory frequency consistent with the aircraft on a 5-mile final approach to T67, but no further transmissions were heard. At 1333:34, while approximately 1.3 nautical miles northwest of the approach end of runway 14 at T67, the aircraft turned left and began flying in a northerly direction.
Video footage from a camera located approximately 0.25 nautical miles south of the site captured the aircraft flying low over powerlines with the landing gear extended in a slight left bank. The aircraft's left bank angle increased to more than 90 degrees as it descended. The airplane flew over a commercial building and was seen impacting the ground while inverted and in a left wing low attitude. The impact involved numerous parked, unoccupied commercial vehicles, resulting in an immediate explosion and a large post-crash fire that consumed the aircraft.
