What happened

On November 10, 2025, at approximately 1815 mountain standard time, a Piper PA-28-235, registration N9143W, was involved in an accident near Castle Rock, Colorado. The aircraft was being operated under 14 CFR Part 91 for personal use.

While flying in cruise flight under visual meteorological conditions (VMC), the pilot noticed a slight reduction in engine speed. The pilot responded by applying carburetor heat; however, the engine lost all power approximately two minutes later. Unable to restore engine power, the pilot performed a forced landing on a road. During the landing, the left wing of the aircraft struck a car.

There were no fatalities resulting from the accident. The pilot and one passenger were not injured, while a second passenger sustained minor injuries. The occupants of the car involved in the collision were not injured.
