Incident Details
On July 21, 2025, a Van's RV-8 aircraft, registration LY-LOT, was conducting a private flight from Paluknys aerodrome to Palanga International Airport. At 14:16 hrs, after touchdown, the aircraft veered to the right. The pilot applied braking to the left wheel in an attempt to keep the aircraft on the runway. This action caused the left tire to partially come off the rim, which in turn broke the wheel fairing. The aircraft subsequently left the runway to the right and came to a stop a few meters beyond the edge of the runway.
