What happened
On 31 July 2015, an Embraer EMB-505 Phenom 30 and registration HZ-IBN was conducting a private IFR flight from Milan, Italy, to Blackbushe Airport, Hampshire. The flight was carrying a crew of one and three passengers. During the approach to Runway 25, the aircraft entered the left-hand circuit via the crosswind leg. While on the downwind leg, the aircraft overtook a microlight, prompting a TCAS 'descend' Resolution Advisory to avoid a conflict. Following this, the aircraft climbed and then began a steep descent of up to 3,000 feet per minute.
As the aircraft approached the runway threshold, the TAWS issued six 'pull up' warnings. The aircraft crossed the threshold at approximately 50 ft aal with an airspeed of 150 KIAS, which was significantly higher than the manufacturer's target threshold speed of 108 KIAS for the estimated landing weight. The aircraft touched down approximately 710 m beyond the runway threshold.
Upon reaching the end of the paved surface, the aircraft veered slightly left of the centerline and struck an earth bank. The impact caused the nose landing gear to detach. The aircraft briefly became airborne again before striking several parked cars at a nearby business. A large fire subsequently brokeed out, destroying the aircraft. There were 4 fatalities (the pilot and three passengers).
The investigation
The AAIB conducted a field investigation utilizing ground inspections and data from the Combined Voice and Flight Data Recorder (CVFDR). The investigation examined the aircraft's flight path, the sequence of TCAS advisories, and the impact dynamics at the accident site.
