What happened

On a cargo mission destined for Maban, an aircraft departed from Runway 13 at Juba Airport at 12:33 local time. The flight was transporting a payload of 28 drums of diesel and was manned by a crew of five. Approximately three minutes into the climb, the flight crew issued an emergency declaration.

Shortly after this communication, the aircraft entered an uncontrolled descent. The plane impacted the ground less than 2 km beyond the end of the runway, where the impact triggered a fire that consumed the wreckage. The aircraft, which was being operated for Euro Airlines, was completely destroyed during the accident. There were five fatalities among the occupants.
