10 fatalitiesKarlstad, SwedenTakeoff (climb)

An aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff while climbing, resulting in the deaths of all ten people on board.

What happened

During the early stages of flight, an aircraft experienced a loss of lift while attempting to reach an altitude of 200 feet. Despite both engines being set to maximum power at the time of the incident, the plane entered a stall and struck the ground.

The impact resulted in the total destruction of the airframe. There were ten fatalities recorded among the occupants of the aircraft.

Findings

Investigations into the accident revealed that the aircraft was carrying an excessive load. This weight imbalance caused the center of gravity to shift outside of the permitted flight envelope, making the aircraft unable to maintain controlled flight during the climb.

Probable cause

The aircraft was operated with an overload that placed the center of gravity outside of safe operational limits.
