What happened
During the landing phase at El Jaguey Airstrip, the aircraft experienced a critical malfunction immediately following touchdown. A failure within the hydraulic system rendered the aircraft uncontrollable, preventing the crew from maintaining a stable path on the runway.
As a result of the loss of control, the aircraft veered off the runway surface. The excursion caused the separation of the undercarriage from the main structure. The aircraft eventually came to a stop a short distance from the runway.
Despite the significant impact, all 24 occupants managed to evacuate the aircraft without injury. The aircraft sustained damage that was determined to be beyond repair.
Findings
- The primary factor in the loss of directional control was a hydraulic failure occurring at the moment of touchdown.
