What happened
On a night flight from Skopje to Mostar, a twin-engine aircraft crashed while attempting to land. The flight was an official mission transporting seven passengers and two crew members, including the President of the Republic of Macedonia. During the approach phase, the aircraft encountered marginal weather conditions characterized by low visibility.
While navigating the approach, the plane collided with a mountain slope situated approximately 32 km southeast of the Mostar airport, near the Berkovići region. The force of the impact, followed by a post-crash fire, resulted in the total destruction of the airframe. There were nine fatalities recorded, as all individuals on board perished in the accident.
