What happened
During a flight traveling from New Delhi toward Kanpur, the crew notified air traffic control of their position over Aligarh. Before reaching the subsequent reporting point at Kadas, the aircraft was positioned approximately 10 miles to the right of its assigned track. Following the acquisition of necessary permission, the pilot requested a direct route to the destination in Kanpur.
Roughly ten minutes after this request, while the twin engine aircraft was cruising at an altitude of 14,000 feet, the plane began an uncontrolled descent. This occurred while the flight was operating within severe weather conditions. During the descent, the aircraft experienced partial mid-air disintegration before impacting an open field in the vicinity of Mainpuri. The accident resulted in eight fatalities and no survivors.
