What happened
On a scheduled medical transport mission, a twin engine aircraft departed from Bogotá-El Dorado Airport at 06:00 local time. The flight was destined for Araracuara in the Caquetá State, transporting a patient and two doctors alongside two pilots.
Approximately fifteen minutes after takeoff, the flight crew notified air traffic control of technical difficulties. In response to these reported issues, the aircraft was authorized to divert to Villavicencio-La Vanguardia Airport. During the approach to the diversion airfield, the aircraft experienced a stall. The plane impacted a forested area situated alongside a road, where a significant post-crash fire erupted. The impact and subsequent flames resulted in the total destruction of the airframe and five fatalities.
