What happened
During the landing phase of the flight, the aircraft's nose landing gear failed immediately upon contact with the runway. This structural failure caused the nose of the plane to drop, leading to significant damage to both the second and fourth engines. Following the collapse, the aircraft continued to slide along the runway for several dozen meters before the movement ceased.
There were no injuries reported among the five crew members on board, all of whom were able to evacuate the aircraft safely. However, the impact and subsequent sliding caused extensive structural damage to the airframe. The aircraft was subsequently declared a total loss, as the damage was determined to be beyond repair.
Findings
- The primary cause of the incident was the collapse of the nose landing gear during the touchdown sequence.
- The failure resulted in direct damage to engine n°2 and engine n°4.
- The aircraft sustained damage that rendered it non-repairable.
