What happened
A twin-engine cargo aircraft was conducting a transport mission from Ekereku to Eteringbang, carrying fuel drums intended for local mining operations. While performing the final approach to Runway 03 at Eteringbang Airfield, the aircraft was flying at a very low altitude. During this phase, the pilot attempted a right-hand turn, which resulted in a loss of control. The plane subsequently impacted a heavily wooded area located approximately 200 metres from the runway.
Findings
The impact caused the total destruction of the twin-engine aircraft. There was one fatality recorded, as the pilot was the only person on board at the time of the accident. The investigation indicates that the loss of control during a low-altitude turn was the primary factor leading to the crash.
