What happened
A twin-engine aircraft departed from Entebbe, operating as an on-demand taxi flight destined for Kasese. The flight was transporting one pilot and 10 passengers. During the flight, the aircraft went down within the Rwenzori Mountains National Park, located in the Kasese area.
Following the impact, the wreckage was inspected, and it was noted that a significant amount of cash, which the passengers were reportedly carrying for a gold-related mission, was missing from the crash site. The pilot was found deceased, and reports indicated the presence of two gunshot wounds on the pilot's body.
Findings
While the precise reason for the crash remains unconfirmed, investigators noted the presence of ballistic trauma on the pilot. The disappearance of the large sum of currency from the wreckage site is a notable detail surrounding the event.
