An aircraft experienced a tire failure during its takeoff roll at La Ceiba-Goloson Airport, resulting in a runway excursion and one serious injury.

What happened

While performing a takeoff roll at La Ceiba-Goloson Airport, the aircraft experienced a sudden tire burst. In response to the failure, the pilot initiated an aborted takeoff procedure. However, the aircraft could not decelerate sufficiently before reaching the end of the runway. The plane subsequently overran the paved surface, coming to a stop approximately 116 meters beyond the runway threshold.

As a result of the excursion, the aircraft sustained damage that rendered it a total loss. Regarding the occupants, all nine passengers were able to evacuate the wreckage without any injuries. The pilot, however, sustained serious injuries during the incident.
