What happened

An aircraft departed from San José-Tobagías Bolaños Airport under favorable weather conditions. During the initial climb, while the aircraft was attempting to reach an altitude of 6,000 feet, it collided with the side of White Peak, a mountain standing at 2,438 meters. The impact occurred approximately 20 km southeast of the departure airfield.

Search efforts located the wreckage roughly 600 meters away from the mountain's summit. The accident resulted in 23 fatalities, with no survivors reported among the occupants.
