What happened
On the day of the accident, a single-engine aircraft was performing a flight from Rio Branco to Envira. The flight was carrying a total of 12 occupants, consisting of two pilots and 10 passengers, which included two children and three women.
Shortly after the aircraft departed from the Rio Branco-Plácido de Castro Airport, the plane became uncontrollable. The aircraft descended into a heavily wooded region, where the impact and subsequent fire caused the total destruction of the airframe. There were 12 fatalities resulting from the crash.
Findings
Following the departure from the airfield, the aircraft entered an uncontrolled flight state. The impact forces and the resulting post-crash fire were the primary factors in the destruction of the plane and the loss of all lives on board.
