What happened
While performing a takeoff roll, the pilot of a twin engine airplane initiated an aborted takeoff. For reasons that were not immediately determined, the aircraft could not decelerate sufficiently within the available runway length. As a result, the plane overran the end of the paved surface and breached a perimeter fence before coming to a final stop.
During the excursion, there were two injuries reported among the occupants of the aircraft. No fatalities occurred during the incident.
Findings
Investigations into the accident identified several contributing elements regarding the sequence of events. The primary cause was determined to be the collision with fence posts following the decision to abort the takeoff. Key factors noted in the report include:
- An improper spontaneous action taken during the maneuver
- A delay in the execution of the aborting procedure
- The lack of clarity regarding the pilot's specific motivation for canceling the takeoff
