Approximately thirteen minutes later, the pilot notified Air Traffic Control that the aircraft was located 15 nautical miles northeast of Salta Airport and was directed to establish contact with the Salta Tower.

Shortly after this communication, the aircraft collided with the slope of a mountain at Finca el Desmonde, situated in the vicinity of Mojotoro. The impact caused the aircraft to disintegrate. There were four fatalities recorded, as all occupants perished in the crash.
