What happened

A charter flight consisting of a crew of two and four passengers departed from Madrid-Torrejón AFB, bound for Pamplona. During the descent toward Pamplona-Noain Airport, the flight encountered difficult weather conditions. As the crew attempted to locate runway 15, they were unable to maintain visual contact with the landing strip and subsequently decided to perform a go-around.

Shortly after the decision to abort the landing, the twin engine aircraft struck the ground in a hilly area of the Sierra de Tajonar, situated close to the village of Labiano. The impact and a subsequent fire caused the total destruction of the airframe. The accident resulted in two fatalities, including the copilot and one passenger, while the remaining occupants sustained serious injuries.
