What happened

On the date of the accident, a twin-engine aircraft was operating a charter flight on behalf of Magrama (Marbres & Granites de Madagascar). The flight was scheduled to travel from Toliara to the capital city, Antananarivo, carrying two crew members and four passengers.

During the initial climb phase, less than two minutes after departing the runway, the aircraft experienced an engine failure. This mechanical issue caused the plane to descend and impact the ground approximately 1,500 metres beyond the end of the runway. The impact resulted in a post-crash fire. There were 6 fatalities in total, involving two crew members and four passengers, consisting of two Madagascar nationals and four Italian citizens.
