A collision occurred between a Falcon 10 and a Boeing 727-223 on a taxiway intersection following two successful landings.

What happened

On the evening of the incident, a charter flight arrived at the airport, landing on runway 33 at 19:42 local time. The aircraft, a Falcon 10, carried two pilots and two passengers. Shortly after this arrival, a second aircraft, a Boeing 727-223 with registration EI-HCD operated by Hunting Cargo Airlines, landed on the same runway. This second flight had arrived from Porto and was carrying a total of four people.

After both aircraft had completed their landings, they exited the runway at taxiway K-1. As the aircraft proceeded toward the apron, the Falcon 10 traveled along a taxiway that ran parallel to the path taken by the EI-HCD. A collision occurred at the junction where taxiways A-8 and M-8 meet.

Findings

While the Boeing 727-223 sustained only minor damage during the impact, the Falcon 10 was damaged beyond repair. Despite the severity of the structural damage to the smaller jet, there were zero fatalities and zero injuries reported among the four occupants of the Falcon 10.

Probable cause

The collision occurred due to the aircraft traveling on intersecting or parallel taxiway paths after exiting the runway.
