What happened
During a mission providing close air support to various outposts, an AC-47 known as "Spooky" was struck by enemy fire. The aircraft was engaged in gunship support operations when it was hit, causing it to crash within a heavily forested region.
There were no survivors of the incident. The crash resulted in seven fatalities, accounting for the entire crew on board at the time of the event. The wreckage was located in a dense wooded area following the loss of the aircraft.
