What happened
The incident occurred during the final approach phase as the twin engine aircraft attempted to land at Lucena Airport. At the time, meteorological conditions were reported as poor, which likely impacted visibility and handling. Instead of reaching the runway, the airframe collided with the terrain on the slope of Mt Banahao. This mountainous area is situated approximately 20 kilometers northwest of the airport.
Following the impact, emergency response teams recovered two individuals from the wreckage. These survivors included one passenger and one member of the flight crew. Regrettably, 12 other occupants did not survive the accident and were pronounced dead at the scene.
