On approach to Sverdlovsk-Koltsovo Airport in night and fog, pilot error caused the aircraft to drop below the glide path, hit tree tops, and crash. Two crew and two passengers were killed; 23 others were injured.

Accident

During a night approach to Sverdlovsk-Koltsovo Airport under foggy conditions, the crew deviated below the glide path due to pilot error. The aircraft struck tree tops approximately 900 meters behind the outer marker and 160 meters to the right of the extended runway centerline. It then crashed in a meadow 220 meters further on, which was 3,100 meters from the airfield perimeter. Two crew members and two passengers were killed, while 23 other occupants sustained injuries, one of them serious.
