Accident

A delivery flight from Moscow to Irkutsk, with intermediate stops at Sverdlovsk and Novosibirsk, was on final approach to Irkutsk-Intl Airport when it encountered marginal weather conditions. The aircraft struck the ground 1,315 meters short of the runway, bounced, hit a fence, and eventually came to rest in a prairie 550 meters short of the runway threshold. The copilot was killed, and four other occupants sustained slight injuries. The aircraft was damaged beyond repair.
