What happened
On September 17, 2023, at 12:35 UTC, a Textron Aviation G36, registration LV-GLQ, was performing a general aviation ferry flight from Brigadier Mayor César Raúl Ojeda Airport in San Luis to San Fernando International Airport. Immediately following the takeoff phase, the aircraft drifted left of the runway centerline. During this excursion, the aircraft struck the western perimeter fence of the aerodrome, which resulted in a post-impact fire. The aircraft was destroyed in the incident.
The investigation
The investigation focused on the sequence of events following the takeoff roll at San Luis. Authorities examined the flight path of the G36 and the physical evidence at the site of the impact with the perimeter fencing. The investigation confirmed that the aircraft departed from the established runway axis and transitioned into a ground collision with airport infrastructure.
