What happened
On January 29, 2025, a Tecnam P92, registration LV-S100, was involved in a ground collision at Rosario International Airport (SAAR) in Argentina. The aircraft, operated by a local flying school, was engaged in a dual flight training mission. While taxiing within the airport's southern apron, the aircraft struck another object or vehicle on the pavement. The impact occurred at a very low speed of approximately 5 knots. There were two occupants on board the aircraft at the time of the incident, and both were able to evacuate the aircraft within one minute. No injuries were reported for either individual.
The investigation
JST investigators examined the circumstances surrounding the taxiing phase of the flight. The investigation focused on the movement of the Tecnam P92 within the southern apron of the aerodrome. The aircraft, which had a total of 1,616 flight hours, was being operated under non-commercial, instructional flight conditions. The investigation confirmed that the incident took place on a level, paved surface during daylight hours with clear visibility.
