What happened
On November 12, 2023, at approximately 19:30 UTC, an L-29 aircraft, registration LV-X468, was participating in an aerial demonstration at the Villa Cañas Aeroclub in the province of Santa Fe. The flight was part of an ongoing airshow. During the performance, the aircraft executed a low-altitude pass before attempting an aerobatic maneuver. During this sequence, the pilot lost control of the aircraft, which subsequently impacted the ground in a rural area near Villa Cañas. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft and the two fatalities of the occupants on board.
The investigation
The investigation focused on the flight path and the execution of the maneuvers performed during the demonstration. Investigators examined the circumstances surrounding the low-altitude pass and the subsequent loss of control. The aircraft, owned and operated privately, was engaged in general aviation demonstration operations at the time of the accident. The wreckage was located at an elevation of approximately 333 feet in a rural zone.
