What happened
On March 6, 2021, a Draco PMD aircraft, registered as LV-X3/21, was conducting a local general aviation training flight departing from the Marcos Juárez Aerodrome in Córdoba, Argentina. Approximately 15 minutes into the flight, the pilot encountered significant difficulties maintaining control of the aircraft.
Due to the loss of effective control, the pilot was forced to perform an emergency landing. The aircraft descended into a cornfield located in the vicinity of the departure airfield. Despite the impact, there were no injuries reported for either the pilot or the passenger.
The investigation
The investigation focused on the circumstances surrounding the flight in Marcos Juárez. The aircraft, a private two-seat model, was engaged in a routine training maneuver when the flight parameters became unstable. The investigation established that the flight duration was minimal, lasting only 15 minutes before the emergency procedure was initiated.
