What happened
On March 11, 2025, at approximately 13:30 local time, a Tecnam P2006T, registration LV-JUW, was performing a non-scheduled relocation flight from Esperanza to Sauce Viejo International Airport (SAAV) in the Santa Fe province of Argentina. During the landing phase of the flight, the aircraft experienced an abnormal contact with the runway pavement.
The aircraft struck the surface at an impact speed of approximately 75 knots with the nose and wings in a level attitude. The aircraft traveled roughly 90 meters along the runway before coming to a stop. Despite the nature of the contact, there were no injuries reported for the two occupants on board.
The investigation
The investigation focused on the circumstances surrounding the landing at SAAV. Technical data confirmed that the aircraft, a 202-year-old model with 519.3 total flight hours, was operating under Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) with excellent visibility and calm winds. The investigation examined the aircraft's maintenance status, noting that both Rotax 912 engines and the MT-Propeller components were within valid certification limits. The crew, consisting of a pilot-in-command with a commercial rating and a co-pilot, successfully evacuated the aircraft within three minutes of the event.
