What happened
On May 11, 2024, at 15:50 UTC, a Cessna A-182J, registration LV-IXB, was involved in a ground incident at San Fernando International Airport (SADF) in Buenos Aires. The aircraft, operated for private general aviation purposes, was performing taxi operations for a flight destined for Carmelo Airport (SUCM). During the taxi phase, the aircraft came to a stop on taxiway Charly, near the holding point for runway 23.
The investigation
The investigation established that the stoppage was necessitated by a nose wheel puncture. The incident occurred while the aircraft was maneuvering on the ground, and no injuries were reported to the two occupants on board. There was no damage reported to the aircraft structure following the event.
Findings
- The primary cause of the aircraft's immobilization was the loss of pressure/puncture in the nose wheel tire.
- The incident was limited to the ground taxi phase and did not involve any flight operations or collisions.
