What happened
On a morning mission near the border of Mexico and Guatemala, a twin engine airplane departed from Tapachula Airport at 08:14 local time. The flight was part of an ongoing agricultural program intended to distribute sterile flies to manage cattle screwworm populations in the region.
During the operation, the aircraft encountered unknown circumstances that led to a crash in a hilly area. The impact of the crash, followed by a post-crash fire, resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft. There were three fatalities among the occupants, which included two pilots and one passenger.
