What happened

On a flight from Villavicencio-La Vanguardia Airport to Uribe, a twin-engine aircraft carrying 15 passengers and 2 pilots encountered difficult weather conditions. During the cruise phase of the flight, the crew provided an estimated time of arrival for Uribe of 15:50 local time. While operating at an altitude of 11,800 feet, the aircraft collided with the side of a mountain. The impact caused the plane to break apart.

Search efforts located the debris on Mt Páramo El Nevado, situated approximately 33 km northeast of Cubarral, three days after the incident. The wreckage was found to be completely destroyed. There were 17 fatalities among the occupants of the aircraft.
