What happened
On the morning of the accident, a twin engine aircraft departed from San Pedro Sula-Ramon Villeda Morales Airport at 07:04 local time. The flight was scheduled for a 40-minute duration to Tegucigalpa, carrying a total of 14 people, including two pilots and 12 passengers.
During the flight, the crew received clearance to descend to 9,000 feet to prepare for an approach to runway 20. Shortly after, the pilot notified air traffic control that a go-around procedure was being initiated, though the reason for this maneuver was not specified. Following this, the aircraft was cleared to perform an approach to runway 02.
While conducting the approach in marginal weather conditions with the aircraft in a full flaps down configuration, the plane experienced a stall. The aircraft subsequently crashed into a wooded area situated approximately 12 km from the airport. The impact resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft and 14 fatalities.
