What happened
On the date of the accident, a twin-engine aircraft was operating a charter flight on behalf of a Sudanese Development Unit. The mission's objective was to transport medical personnel and various supplies to a school project located in Ayod.
Shortly after departing from Jiech Airport, the aircraft entered its initial climb phase. During this period, the plane experienced a loss of lift and subsequently crashed. The accident resulted in six fatalities, including one pilot and five passengers, while four other individuals on board sustained injuries.
Findings
Preliminary information suggests that the crash was triggered by a sudden shift in the aircraft's cargo following takeoff. This movement of weight within the cabin led to an aerodynamic stall, which ultimately caused the aircraft to descend uncontrollably.
