The flight concluded with an emergency landing approximately 10 km away from Paeng Nylong-do. Although the aircraft was destroyed during the incident, all nine crew members survived the event. Following the ditching, the survivors were recovered by personnel from the Royal Navy vessel HMS Kenya.
