On December 11, 2025, flights were scheduled by the operator OOO 'Letnaya shkola Krylya' at the Khozhevo airfield. The purpose of the flights was to verify the piloting skills of flight crew members following a two-year hiatus in flight operations. An ICAO flight plan for the area had been submitted and approved the previous day.
Prior to the accident, the instructor underwent a pre-flight medical examination at a medical center in Minsk. The aircraft, a SportStar with registration EW-536SL, was equipped with a Garmin G3X electronic pilotage and navigation system. Flight data recorded on a microSD card within the Garmin GDU 460 displays covered the period from 08:25:26 to 09:32:15 on the day of the event.
At 09:32, the aircraft's emergency radio beacon activated. The COSPAS-SARSAT system recorded the signal, and by 09:35, a message containing the coordinates was transmitted to the Coordination Center for Search and Rescue of the State Aviation Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus.
There were no injuries reported. At the time of the hull loss, the captain was at his workstation and properly restrained by seat belts. No fire occurred on the aircraft or on the ground, and no damage to ground structures was noted.
