What happened
During an aerial attack exercise, a float plane collided with a Berliner Joyce registered A9191. The incident took place approximately one mile south of Seattle-Boeing Field. Following the impact, both aircraft crashed into the ground. All five crew members aboard the PM-1 were killed in the accident. In contrast, the crew of the Berliner Joyce managed to bail out and survive the event.
The float plane involved in the collision was identified as a PM-1 with the registration A8294 (6-P-11), also designated VP-6F.
