What happened
Upon completing its landing at Cali-Alfonso Bonilla Aragón Airport, the aircraft experienced a failure to decelerate sufficiently on the runway. While operating on runway 19, which measures 9,842 feet in length, the plane exited the paved surface and overran the runway. During the excursion, the aircraft's landing gear was torn away, and the vessel subsequently struck the airport's perimeter fencing. The sequence of events concluded with the aircraft coming to a stop on its belly.
As a result of the impact and the excursion, six passengers sustained minor injuries. The remaining occupants of the aircraft were able to evacuate without any reported harm. The incident resulted in the aircraft being declared a total loss due to damage that was beyond the possibility of repair.
Findings
- The primary factor in the accident was the inability to achieve proper deceleration after touchdown.
