What happened
A solo flight traveling from a fish camp toward its destination in Selkirk ended in an accident in a remote region. During the transit, the aircraft went down under circumstances that remained undetermined at the time of the incident. Because the plane failed to reach the intended landing site, search and rescue teams were deployed to locate the missing vessel and its occupant.
Despite the efforts of the search operations, no evidence of the flight was located during the initial period of the mission. The search efforts were officially terminated several days later after the aircraft and the pilot could not be found. It was not until June 1966 that investigators discovered the remains of the wreckage, which had been consumed by fire.
