What happened

On a private flight departing from Canela Airport runway 24, a twin engine airplane began its ascent at 0912LT. The aircraft was carrying one pilot and nine passengers. Shortly after takeoff, approximately one minute into the flight, the aircraft struck the chimney of a private residence. Following this impact, the plane lost altitude and descended into an inn situated in the central area of Gramado, roughly 3 km west of the departure airport.

The collision resulted in the total destruction of the aircraft and caused damage to several nearby structures. The accident resulted in 10 fatalities among the occupants of the plane. Additionally, the crash caused injuries to 17 people on the ground, with two of those individuals suffering serious injuries.
