What happened
During an approach to the Shatyrkul area, a single-engine aircraft crashed into a snow-covered field. The impact occurred approximately 1.2 km south of the intended landing zone, situated about 20 km north of Shatyrkul. At the time of the accident, the region was experiencing low visibility due to heavy fog.
Search and rescue teams reached the crash site at 1701 local time. The aircraft was carrying a total of seven occupants, including four passengers who were identified as employees of the Kazakhmys Mining Company. The accident resulted in six fatalities and one serious injury. The surviving female passenger was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
