What happened
During the initial climb phase from Batagay Airport, an aircraft reached an altitude of approximately 50 metres before experiencing an uncommanded pitch-up. In response to the change in pitch, the captain instructed passengers to move toward the front of the cabin instead of decreasing engine thrust. Following this, the aircraft experienced a left roll and subsequently entered a stall. The plane impacted the ground roughly 80 metres to the left of the runway.
Findings
- The aircraft was destroyed upon impact.
- The accident resulted in seven fatalities and twelve injuries.
- A primary contributing factor was the failure to reduce engine power following the aircraft's nose-up attitude.
