What happened
During an agricultural spraying mission for the 'Zimnyatsky' State farm, the pilot operated the aircraft without a co-pilot, accompanied instead by a farm employee. After the successful completion of two spraying passes, the pilot performed a low-altitude flight over a hotel where the crew had been staying, maintaining an altitude between 50 and 75 meters.
As the aircraft attempted to climb to a target altitude of approximately 200 to 250 meters, the aircraft experienced a sudden loss of control. The aircraft rolled to the left at a 16-degree angle and the nose pitched down to 21 degrees. This maneuver resulted in a plunge that led to a crash and subsequent fire. The accident resulted in two fatalities.
Findings
- The flight was being conducted as a single-pilot operation with a non-crew passenger.
- The accident occurred during the climb phase of flight following a low-level pass.
