What happened
During a scheduled flight leg traveling from Burgun toward Karaylar (Krasnovodsk region), an aircraft was performing duties in support of a local canal-building enterprise. While approaching the airstrip, the crew executed a sharp turn at a low altitude. The intent behind this maneuver was to visually confirm if any individuals were present within a hut located at the landing site.
During this low-level flight phase, the crew became preoccupied with their observations, leading to a loss of situational awareness. This distraction resulted in the pilots losing control of the aircraft. The impact caused the total destruction of the plane. The accident resulted in two fatalities, including the pilot and a passenger, while the second pilot sustained serious injuries.
Findings
Investigations into the crash concluded that the primary factor was the loss of control at a low altitude. This occurred because the crew attempted unusual maneuvers while simultaneously becoming distracted from the essential task of maintaining stable flight.
